MÚSICA DO BRASIL (2000)

The winner of the Brazilian Cinema Grand Prix, a silver medalist at the New York Film Festival and an International Emmy Awards finalist, Music of Brazil is the largest-ever inventory of Brazilian rhythms. Travelling more than 80,000 kilometers through nineteen states, Giros recorded 108 different musical styles in 130 performances, broadcast by MTV and TV Cultura. Gilberto Gil presents more than 500 compositions by anonymous song-writes and celebrities such as Caetano Veloso, Tom Zé, Paulinho da Viola and other well-known performers who analyze this repertoire, linking it to their own music.
